binge

どんちゃん騒ぎ、an occasion when an activity is done in an extreme way, especially eating, drinking, or spending money

Ex) binge eating, binge drinking

bluff

(人)にはったりをかける、(人)に虚勢を張る

Ex) Concerns over customers leaving Oracle is not new, but management seems to be in denial or bluffing their position.

bravado

虚勢、強がり

Ex1) Bravado doesn't impress me, but hard work does.

Ex2) The management's unfounded bravado and inexplicable denials make me uncomfortable and negative about the company's prospects.

hectic

仕事などがかなり忙しい

Ex1) My work is very hectic.
Ex2) Things have been hectic.

lay out

to explain something clearly, usually in writing. to present

Ex) The code of practice lays out very clearly what the duties of the registrar are.

leeway

余裕、freedom to act within particular limits:

Ex) Local councils will be given some leeway as to how they implement the legislation.

on a whim

Ex) He got married on a whim.

pull strings

Ex) I may be able to pull a few strings if you need the document urgently.

take a cue from

Ex1) We should take our cue from nature.

Ex2) Australia took a cue from the U.S. by banning Chinese telecommunications firm Huawei from its next-generation 5G mobile network.

top of mind (= front of mind)

あるニーズが起きたとき、ある製品カテゴリーで最初に浮かんでくるブランド名のこと。最重要、最優先
If a brand, product, or company is front of mind, it is the first one that people think of when they are considering buying something:

Ex) We need advertising that will keep the brand front of mind and help reinforce brand values.
